Diversity of patterns, fabrics, colors ... The tapestry immediately brings a touch of refinement to your interior decoration. In terms of installation, everything rests on the fixing, which must be strong enough to ensure the good hold of the tapestry.

Tapestry: surface preparation

Like all types of wallpaper, the wallpaper should be pasted on a clean, healthy, dry and level wall. So plan to fill the cracks with plaster, and eradicate irregularities from the wall with a fine-grained abrasive. Dust, then wash with a damp sponge, and allow to dry.

How to lay tapestry?

The upholstery can be laminated on foam or on paper. It then arises like a wallpaper. It can also be posed by nailing or by chamfering. In this case, it is stretched on rods fixed in the corners of the walls. Use special liquid neoprene glue or acrylic glue. Cut the rolls of fabric to the right size using a cutter. Transfer the floor-to-ceiling height and allow 10 cm more on the side opposite the emarged edge. Directly glue the wall, starting from the top. Position the fabric on the angle made by the wall with the ceiling, edge emarge towards the ceiling, then unroll the fabric. Paste, then level off the excess with the cutter. To nail the fabric, it is necessary to have a stapler-nailer. Begin stapling along the ceiling by stretching the upholstery as far as possible towards the corners. Repeat the same work at the bottom, then on the sides. Staple every 2 cm. Much more complex, the installation by chamfering begins with the fixing of strips around the plinths, doors, windows ... The fabric is stapled on a strip of cardboard.
